Saturday Walking Tours

Saturday Morning Walking Tours are in full swing.

Third tour of the season is Saturday, May 21 – 10:00 am

Tours last about 2 hours – Meet at 20 South New Street – The R.R. Smith Center for History and Art

Since 1986, HSF has offered FREE guided walking tours every Saturday from May through October. Stroll through four of Staunton’s six historic districts as your volunteer guide discusses Staunton’s historic architecture and the city’s historical development from Beverley’s Mill Place to a booming 19th & 20th century commercial center.

Come as you are, but we suggest comfortable walking shoes!
  • 10 am Saturday, May through October
  • Rain or shine
  • The lobby of the R.R. Smith Center for History & Art, across from the Staunton Visitors Center & Parking Garage
  • No reservations required!

Self-guided walking tours

Enjoy Staunton’s architecture and history by exploring the historic districts using Staunton’s Self-Guided Walking Tour Map. You may pick up a printed copy at the Staunton Visitors Center.

Volunteer Guides Needed – Consider Leading a Tour.

Tell us if you are willing to volunteer for 2 hours of strolling and telling visitors about architecture and related history of Staunton.  Don’t worry – there is a written guide, and we will arrange training.

Please contact the office – [email protected] or 885-7676 for additional information

Locals and visitors alike truly enjoy talking about Staunton’s beautiful architecture.
