Brown Bag Presentation Walk
Entryways to the City: Kalorama and South Coalter
Friday, October 13, 2017 @noon
We will meet and begin our discussion at the corner of Greenville Avenue and South Coalter Street (on the sidewalk in front of Staunton Junction/Citgo Station).
Consider parking in the New Street Parking Garage and walking along Greenville to the Staunton Junction corner. On the way look for the historic buildings we reviewed this spring for our “Autohood”
presentation.
The tour will review the current and historic entryways of South Coalter and Kalorama Streets. This junction of neighborhoods blends transportation, industrial, and residential architecture. We will discuss how the elements of this historic landscape have evolved, the new energy realized through rehabilitation, and the potential for a signature entry to the City’s historic core.
The tour will finish at the VSDB end of Kalorama, offering a pleasant walk back to the garage via Kalorama Street.
Free and open to the public.
