The Preservation Brown Bag Series continues its focus on Staunton neighborhoods with a look at the West End neighborhood’s Booker T. Washington Community Center – formerly Booker T. Washington High School. An example of the successful preservation of a building central to the West End community, the re-use of the Center has helped sustain the physical structure, culture, and history of the surrounding neighborhood.
Please join Vice Mayor, Ophie Kier, and horticulturalist and family genealogist, Jennifer Vickers, as they share stories about the preservation of the building and the history of the nearby community.
