Jennie Hill, Board Chair of Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity will provide a presentation about their work in the West End. Habitat is rehabbing existing homes and constructing new infill housing on Stafford Street. See their web site for beautiful photography of their ongoing project.
The presentation will be held in the Booker T. Washington gymnasium. You can access the gym from the upper parking lot (off of Reservoir Street) or from the lower parking lot (off Johnson Street) and through the main entrance. We hope you will join us.
“If the house has good bones, why tear it down? Renovation retains the uniqueness of the neighborhood architecture.”
“If we build a new house, it should look like the historic design of the surrounding houses”
“Is building a house always the best idea? Maybe the neighborhood needs other things like parking, green space, etc.”
Open and free to the public.
